Long before modern traction control arrays, automotive engineers adopted aviation technology to create the ultimate life-saving stop mechanism: The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). In panic scenarios, violently slamming the brake pedal traditionally locks all four wheels solid, transforming the tires into sliding, uncontrollable skis over ice and rain. ABS computers instantly detect this skidding via wheel sensors and rapidly command high-pressure hydraulic pumps to dynamically "pulse" the brake pressure—squeezing and releasing the brake pads up to 15 times a second. This allows the tires to intermittently rotate and regain micro-grip, permitting the terrified driver to successfully steer around obstacles while maintaining maximum deceleration.
It prevents wheel lock-up during emergency braking. Genuine parts ensure lightning-fast reaction times to keep steering control.
